Sun Prairie Area School District
Know your school choice options in Wisconsin.
In Wisconsin your child can attend any school in a neighboring district (called interdistrict choice). Some districts allow students to transfer to schools in the same district (intradistrict choice) or an adjoining one, with the primary goal of promoting racial integration in Milwaukee and its surrounding suburban districts. Children can also attend charter schools, and low-income students are eligible for scholarship funding to attend private schools. Milwaukee has the country’s largest urban-school-voucher program, which allows disadvantaged children to attend private school using publicly funded scholarships.Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher performing school in the district.
