Students in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) generally attend their neighborhood school, determined by where they live. In certain cases (such as childcare or family relocation), students may request a transfer to another school in the district (called intradistrict choice).Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as "in need of improvement" have the right to attend a higher-performing school in the district.
