Know your school choice options in Utah.
In Utah your child can attend any school in your district (called intradistrict choice) or an adjoining district (interdistrict choice). In the latter case, the policy is mandatory only when enrollment is below the threshold established by the state board. Students can also attend charter schools. The Carson Smith Special Needs Scholarship program offers students with disabilities the opportunity to attend private school using scholarships.Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher performing school in the district.
