"my grandson is in the fourth grade and hates reading, what can I do to improve his reading?"

"Disappointed with your choices of books for 1st grade. While many are great many are too advanced. I know there are children reading ahead of level but the subjects are a bit deep."

"I read to a number of classromms in the San Diego area (all the way from K through 5 and I thought I'd put in my 2 cents worth. I notice that you have selected 'Because of Winn Dixie' But Kate DeCamillo has written two other books which, I have found, are adored by 4th and 5th graders alike. They are 'A Tale of Desperoux' and her latest 'The Magnificent Journey of Edward Tulane' I would recommend both but especially the latter. It has some good concepts that are easy for the kids to follow. Thanks for listening, "

"We home school our 10 year old daughter and have found the Sisters In Time series to be a wonderful way to learn history. The books are historically accurate but the story includes families with children ranging from 8-12 years of age and what their lives were like during the years from 1620-1939! Fun to read as a family"
