Excellent school. Solid academics, excellent Christian-value focus, large enough for diversity -- but not too large to get lost in the shuffle. Great teachers and administration. Wide-range of extra curricular activities.
MHCS is a terrific school. From academics to spiritual focus to extra curricular activities, they excel all around. This is definitely the best school in the area. I could not recommend it more highly.
My son is currently at MHCS and we all love it dearly. Unfortunately, we can't afford to keep him there so he'll be going to public school next year. If you can afford it, definitely put your child here. The only bad thing is the moms who don't have to work are all in a clique and don't include the must-work single moms. But that doesn't affect the education the students receive. I love the weekly chapel and that all lessons are bible based.
My kids attended MHCS and both the teachers and staff get a 10+ rating from me. My fairly academically-average children consistently tested higher than state and area norms and were completely prepared for their transitions to high school. I love that Mission Hills is dedicated to teaching more than just academics. The teachers are as committed to facilitating a child's spiritual and emotional development as they are to academic excellence. As a result my children were provided with ongoing opportunities to try new things (leadership positions, parts in plays, worship band, speeches, sports) in a safe environment. Children are encouraged to be supportive and to pray for those who struggle or have challenges in certain areas. They work as a group to overcome obstacles. That is not the norm for most schools and my children definitely benefited this. I highly recommend this school.
