Great Neck South is an incredibly intense academic school. The media attention has put tremendous stress on gifted students to succeed. No wonder the special education programs are weak. The well-being of this school is at stake. What has our society become?

The gifted students receive all the opportunities in this school. Special education students have absolutely no chance for academic success. All they do is throw at-risk and special education students at the Village School. Not a great school that prepares all students for academic success.

It is really not fair how special education students with limited abilities have to go to North High School. They should not have to if South offered their programs. I have friends in the ACE program at North but because they go to a different school, I cannot see them as often. If South wants to encourage a more inclusive approach for special needs students, they should start by including special education students with limited abilities.
