I am a student at South, and it is a great school. The principal, vice principal, and deans are all great. They have a morning broadcast every morning live, by student. I have been in the studio and it is so cool! It is a professional studio with kids working in it! I love South, it is THE BEST SCHOOL ever!
As a new parent, my son just entered 6th grade, i can't say enough about the staff. They are warm, helpful, and understanding. One happy mom
I am a current student at Great Neck South Middle and have learned so much. At South Middle you feel like you are important and emotionally secure.
My son had a horrible experience in this school. He is a special education student and his needs were never met. He had teachers who did not follow his IEP and was given high grades with no material or content understanding. While in spanish class, he spent his whole period copying when he was supposed to have notes provided. It is impossible to learn a language without hearing or speaking it. It is impossible to hear or speak if you are copying notes. The school teachers knew of his deficits and did nothing to help remediate.
