This is my child's public school and it is an excellent one. We are lucky to have the tiny school atmosphere--just one class per grade, approximately 15 kids in the whole grade--but some large school opportunities. The teachers and parents and kids all know each other from the beginning, so there is sort of a family atmosphere. (It would be hard for a kid to get into trouble without everyone being aware of the path he/she was taking). Some of the parents had the same teachers when THEY went to school at Aldie years ago. The school is very active in getting kids involved in all kinds of extra incentive programs for reading, fitness and more. The kids look forward to lucky trays at lunch, game Friday after lunch, Spanish lessons, science projects, the talent show and more.
