This is one of the most outstanding schools I have ever encountered. Forward thinking, innovative teaching techniques, involved in today's reality and current level of technical & internet status, as well as promoting arts, science, history, literature - you name it. I have seen many private schools. My son has been at encinitas country day in Ms reeves class since the beginning of the 09 school year. In that short period I have seen an almost 100% turnaround. I take my hat off to them. He now loves to learn, does homework without prompting and enjoys going to school I could not recommend it more highly!

Our two children have attended ECDS for 4 years. Their love of learning and mastery of core subjects beyond their grade level is well worth the tuition. During a recent school tour we met ECDS s team of enthusiastic and highly qualified middle and high school teachers just what we are looking for as our children leave elementary school and begin acclimating to the rigors of a college preparatory curriculum. The selection of Mr. Park to lead the math department is particularly impressive to us. His broad experience teaching standard, honors and AP math courses and in developing course content to meet A-G requirements assure students at every level will be prepared and challenged to meet the highest academic standards. We re now convinced that the ECDS middle school is on firm footing, and are optimistic that the high school program will be solidified by the time our children reach 9th grade.

Very average school and with the amount of tuition being paid your better off taking a great vacation and sending your child to the local public school. My child started in 6th grade with a SAT math score in the 95th percentile. By the end of 8th grade he had dropped down to the 78th percentile. Entering high school I was stunned at the level he should have been at and was not. The math program is terrible. Save your money!

We left what was rated as an outstanding Public Elementary school after 3rd grade, and put our 4th grader at ECDS. She loves going to school every day. A classroom of 32 students at the public school has been replaced by one with 17 kids with two teachers. Our daughter was being taught math by parent volunteers in public school and hated it. She loves math now. Her projects are creative. Learning is mastery based, where students take responsibility for their education and learn to challenge themselves through the CA Standards- Based curriculum. My daughter has learned how to manage her time and complete the daily assignments at her own pace and in the order she prefers. Mrs. Reeves is great. She communicates with parents and the kids learn a lot from her. Mr Lehyman, the new principal, is excellent. As a university professor, I know what I'm looking for...
