My son graduated on a slightly modified 504 plan. Although I struggled with compliance of the 504 with some of the teachers, I have to say Principle Brad Barcus always did his best to make sure that the teachers remained focus. Sierra is losing him to Foothill Middle School. He will be an asset but unfortunately it will not benefit my son who received no compliance from the current Foothill Middle School principle. Sierra is the kind of school that parents are hoping for when using sites like this.

I have had 3 students attend there and all three have had a quality education and enjoyed it very much. One of which was on an IEP and the services they provided met the needs and enabled my student to excell.

In my experience Sierra Elementary School has a profound staff that cares about it's students. Due to the neighborhood and environment everyone knows just about everyone or their child and the community comes together to form a family. The teachers work together to ensure that each grade within a the grades group are learning the same curriculum and give each other support and ideas for enhancing the children's education. Extracurricular activities are limited because it is such a small community. There is a science lab that provides amptle information as well as a music room that gives the children an opportunity to be in the school band. Sports are limited but there is a community league that compensates for the loss. They also have a Booster Club for parents to help with supporting the school. Parents are always welcome and each classroom assigns a classroom parent to help out.
