As long as you expect nothing more than the basics you will be fine with this school system. Don't expect the principal or vice principal to go to bat for your kid if you need any extra help for them. There are also only a few teachers who will see your child as 'unique' the rest will want them to fit into their 'cookie cutter' ideal of what a student should act like. One would wonder why so many parents choose to pull their kids from this school system and pay to have them go to other districts.
We moved from Glastonbury and after 15 years and 3 kids in the school system I can honestly say my kids are learning more of the basics, although there are not as may extracurricular programs due to lack of money its fine with me the small town environment and the commitment of the teachers and staff make this an excellent place to raise a familly!!!!
Small class sizes, good programs, and newer facilities. The excellent school system is why we moved to Bolton.
