I must say that Lakehurst ELM is one of the nicer schools I've seen around a military base. However.... I have some issues with some of their policy's. First off... I believe it's grades K-2 that line up outside the school in the morning before they can file into their classes. I wouldn't think anything of it except there is no shelter from the elements, no fence to keep them from darting into the street, and just a few adults to moniter. Detention is a joke. Verry haphazard. students sit where they can in the main office. Parent-Admin communication is a zero. The only special needs teacher they have does the best they can, but the program could be better. Over all, I give the school a two.

We have been very happy with Lakehurst School. They work best with 'mainstream' children but do the best they can with all children. Most of the teachers seem caring and involved. The administration has worked very nicely with us. There is a brand new Principle this year so we shall see how that goes.
