Protsman is a wonderful Elementary School. The school has a wonderful way of teaching the children academics. The teachers keep the parents informed of what the children are learning on a daily basis. I just love the school.

Probelms with Protsman are mainly that it is a part of the Lake Central School District - a giant bureaucracy which exists to perpetuate the jobs of the bureaucrats. Not enough teacher control, the bureaucrats are constantly interfering in curriculum decisions. The 'home school' association is merely a fundraising committee for the school, not a true cooperative parent teacher effort. The 'gifted' program lacks a science component or dedicated science space, and the social studies/history is the usual incoherent hodgepodge that is the state mandated curriculum. If you can afford a private school, or to homeschool I would recommend doing so.
