A caring and involved staff... the teachers are wonderful including the principal, vice principal and special educators. A smaller group of supporting educators that are number 1! Great team of professionals...Mrs.Dzurilla and Mr. Joslyn are wonderful examples of leadership, Thank you to the entire staff from the ladies in the office to the kitchen crew..Thank you.
The staff is caring,ambitious and professiional. I have volunteered there for over 4 years and have watched the children grow and mature as they learn to read. Learning and reading is emphasized.
Friends and I have worked as volunteers at Vogel-Wetmore School for over 3 years. We are so impressed with the school, the teachers, the principal, the custodial staff, the aides, and the volunteers. We have watched the children we help blossom, and we have enriched our lives by working with them and everyone at Vogel. The atmosphere in this elementary school is warm and nurturing. Learning is a priority. School spirit is encouraged. Respect for each other is stressed and very evident all over the school. Teachers are dedicated to their jobs and continue to grow in their expertise. I am proud to be a part of the process, and taxpayers in Torrington should be very proud to support education in Torrington.
My son is in 2nd grade and we are thrilled with the experience he has had for the last 2.5 years! The principal, Mr Joslyn, is involved and attentive - he's at the main doors every morning greeting the kids and knows them all by name. Any concerns we've had (and they were just a few)have been addressed quickly and appropriately. Teachers have a clear curriculum, but also seem to have flexibility enough for teachable moments as they occur. The school is a warm, fun place to be. There is talk around town of a redistricting plan and we are hoping that our son gets to stay put.
