My son, who turned 3 at the end of September, loves going to the 3 year-old class. We are not Lutheran and I found our experience to be the same as others. They said a few set prayers (snack time and at the end of the day) and visited the chapel everyday for a bible story, but the religion was not pushed and was very low-key. They have group circle times, open playtimes, small group activities with the teacher and a few other students, and outdoor playtime. The outdoor playtime seems to be when problems occurred the most often. They have been open to my staying to observe, unannounced. And my son simply loves it. Their method of discipline is to re-direct with time-out being a last resort. It seems to work wonderfully for my head-strong son. His behavior noticeably continues to improve.

Our daughter attended St. Marks preschool and absolutely loved it. She was going to Just for Kids preschool and the teachers there were very rude and mean to my daughter. I was kind of worried about sending her to a lutheran school because our family isn't that religious, but i have found the they don't push religion off on them that much, they say a prayer everyday and go into the chapel but other then that it is exactly like any other preschool. The teachers there are awesome. The only down fall about St. Marks is the art that they do are somewhat cheesy, but the kids love them. But over all a wonderful preschool.
