This school may have earned a 5 star rating from a parent in 2005, but it certainly doesn't in 2009. Ms Patterson's leadership is practically nonexistent and she seems very aloof when it comes to caring about the students or being involved with them. If you ask for the principal, counselor, or your child's teacher to return your phone call, it won't happen. Communication between parents and the school is vital to a child's success, but getting someone at Angier Elementary to communicate with you is an effort in futility. The new school facility, however, is a wonderful improvement.
If I could redo it I would send my child anywhere but here. I think the the whole school needs to done over from the principal down. I feel like my child wasted her time and learned nothing.

I have a student leaving Angier Elementary this year. I cried, other parents cried, our children cried, the teachers, and the principal cried. It simply doesn't get any better than this school. Our principal, Ms. Clinton, is an amazing woman. Simply the best! Full of love, yet balanced with structure. She knows every single student by name, as well as their who their parents are. Even the good kids! The level of education is superior. There is an environment that fosters learning in a fun way. I am told by more than just my child that 'even school lunch is good!' If you are worried about attending Angier Elementary - don't! You and your child are in amazing, capable hands! Harnett County Schools are home to some of the best teachers in the field, in my opinion. Down home love and staff, down to business education and learning. T.M.F.
