Oakwood has developed an amazing ability to nurture and honor the individuality of each student while maintaining its rigorous academic standards. The teachers and administrators are a caring, creative lot. The school culture is warm, trusting and socially conscious. I am lucky to have my son go there.

I am a current student at Oakwood School and I simply cannot imagine having attended another school. In today's day and age, people hace become so focused on GPAs and SATs that they lose sight of learning. Oakwood continues to teach for the sake of learning without compromising the numbers that are still important in terms of getting into college. While I am eternally grateful for the ways in which Oakwood has prepared me for college, I cannot even express how much I owe Oakwood and its teachers for preparing me for life.

I am an alumni of Oakwood and have to say that while it offered incredible access to higher learning possibilities and had an outstanding staff, I can now look back and say that I felt they really catered more to the top of the class kids than the ones who were struggling a bit more. I feel like the staff was so overly concerned with academics that a lot of the more emotional needs of these years were perhaps overlooked with negative results for several I knew. If your child is highly self-motivated, this place is great, but if you have a kid who needs a bit more, really communicate with the staff to stay on top of things.

This school is terrific in so many ways that the limit of 150 words for this review is not enough to describe it. My child loves it! Everyone inlvolved with the school from the top down is commited to the educational, social, and emotional development of each child-so at the end of the day these kids become highly productive citizens of society. Parent involvement is extremely high in every way, and the school provides parents with tools to manage every day situations that arise while rearing a child. My child loves learning and loves learning.
