I had a child who spent 5 years at Frostig both in the elementary and middle school. I would say that in the beginning the teaching was uneven but over the years things improved significantly. When we left, I believe they had an energetic, strong, cohesive group of young teachers. My experience with the administration was always positive. They were supportive, helpful and creative when it came to tweaking my child s program so that he could get the most out of a Frostig education. I think parents need to be realistic when they look at the program. Frostig cannot cure the learning issues. What they can offer is a great program that is tailor-made to help the child maximize his or her potential.

Frostig is a lot of flash and no substance. There is no consistent discipline plan, bullying and sexual harrassment is not dealt with. Administration is more concerned with fund raising than school environment. With no plan for dealing with behavior issues, problems can escalate. Staff is uneven-some very good teachers, others are petty and overly dependent on worksheets, etc. My child was made to take the same history class 2 years in a row, same old worksheets and boredom. Principal is often not on campus, off attending conferences. Bias against public pay kids.

My child attended this school for three years. I would not recommend this school. The academic program is quite limited due to teachers lack of ability to teach without dittos. Parent involvement is highly sought after for funds. Very poor employee moral which overflows to students.
