Belmont School is not what it used to be. I am a former student at the school. In the 1970's there was a caring atmosphere and learning was enjoyable. My child attended the school in the 2000's and we found it to be an extremely negative enviornment with a military style administration who curbed all enthusiasm within the student body. My child was an all A student and upon leaving Belmont he found school once again enjoyable and adjusted rather quickly to his new enviornment with a new found desire to learn above and beyond the norm. We are delighted we removed our child from this school and it is our desire to see Belmont move once again toward a creative, caring enviornment. Graduation rates are currently down and student moral is very low. Teachers are good morally and the new H.S. principal does seem to care more than the previous.

At the K-8 level this school was wonderful. After that, my children were made to feel 'unworthy' of being a part of a Level 4/5 school. It is disappointing that teachers and administrators at these grade levels bash the opinions, thoughts, and problems of teens. We all know that the teen years are very hard due to hormornal changes and peer pressure. My children were encouraged to quit instead encouraged to prevail. This proves that this particular administration cannot handle any deviance from their level 5 'status'. Didn't the children use to come first? I thought that is why teachers loved their jobs--to help and encourage learning and growth--not discourage it. Your kids would be better off in a level 1 school where they still count.

Belmont School is a great place for children to learn and grow. I have lived in many places and am thankful for this school and it's wonderful teachers.
