the academy for social action is a great school.it gives students the oppurtubties to get a great education where teachers push and engage students in their curriculum.Extracurricular activities are at a high at asa with a developing basketball team because of the small size but other clubs such as build on and broadway junior are among the most popular. The principal ms.simmons knows every student is very open to ideas and clubs if given the proper propasal.Asa is a small safe school with a dedicated group of teachers and principal. The envirment at asa is warm.If you attend the school you may lack the tradtionl highschool experince because their is currently only a 9th and 10th grade.otherwise all other areas are great.

This school is grate the teachers the staff the students we couldnt ask for any better then my school ASA
The Academy for Social Action is the first College Bord school in Manhattan built around a mission and vison of urban students going to College. The students are exposed to College early last year they visited 10 historical black colleges and participated in several forums. There is strong leadereship and the students enjoy coming to school. In their first year 100% of the 7th graders scored in level 2,3, and 4 on the state english exam. The staff work very hard to engage students and because of the small population every child is known. They even gave parents email accounts to stay up to date with activities and to communicate with the teachers. I am happy that my daughter was accepted.
