south effingham is a great scho0ol! my niece attends and is in the band. they have a excellent band, their halftime shows are the best!

Terrific school! Had my children enrolled in expensive private school in Chatham Co untill we moved to Effingham Co. Transferred them to South Effingham where they have been to the elementary, middle and high school for the last 11 years. All 3 schools put the private school to shame and we didn't have to spend a fortune for our kids to get a great education. Very caring teachers who work hard to ensure every student is pushed hard enough to succeed but also notice those who may be struggling and offer extra help, sometimes after hours at their own expense. They also recognize gifted students, which the private school never did, and set up the appropriate tests to have my oldest son put into the GT program the first nine weeks he attended the school. That alone opened so many doors for him academically that he wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Im at south effingham cause my mama dont want me at groves..I am nothing short from miserable there.As far as academics, south has it down..There are great programs and a lot of usefull information to learn.. Too bad all the teachers can worry about is evryones appearence and with half the time we should be in class spent in the bathroom tucking in our shirts or being suspended or in iss cause our pants where 'faded navy' instead of navy, or whatever they come up with, its a miracle half these kids can tie there own shoes...If you acctualy read the regulations for uniforms youll see why there are so many disaplinary problems with it..(Googel it, its b.S)at other school they learn real world skills.We learn to wear the right socks and tuck in our shirts..They seriously need to reprioritize.Do not send your kid here...Period

I have been to 3 different high school while i was attending school , and I have to say South was the worse school I've ever been to . They worry too much about dress code whether than academic struggles .
