Capitol Hill Elementary School

I have two children attending Capitol Hill School right now and I love everything about it. From the excellent teachers and experienced staff to the highly involved parent volunteers, the school is a blue ribbon winner. In addition to learning the 3 R's - reading, writing and arithmetic - students are encouraged to explore creativity and self-expression with music, PE and art classes that students enjoy during the weekdays. Most of the elementary school-age children in my neighborhood attend Capitol Hill school and we have a tight-knit and supportive community. I love my neighborhood school and look forward to watching my children continue to learn and grow there.

Capitol Hill should be rated 10 out of 10. My oldest son went there from K-5th grade, now in Middle School, and my youngest son is still at Capitol Hill. Both of them have had exceptional learning experiences and made great friends there. Capitol Hill has a devoted parent community, exceptionally motivated and skilled teaching staff and a nurturing and supportive environment. Compared to other schools I am familiar with, I could not imagine my children anywhere else.

One of the most excellent schools in Portland. it is definitely a diamond in the rough compared to other elementary schools. Though sometimes crowded, learning is interaction-based and the teachers are friendly. The school has a great no-bullying policy and a caring, personable faculty. If you're wondering which school is best for your child, look no further. My kids turned out excellent and i give most (not all) of that credit to this wonderful school.
