I decided to send my children to the school because of their philosophy. The children, teachers and staff not only focus on challenging academics, but on good old fashioned manners and quality character traits. The teachers go above and beyond to communicate and keep me informed at all times. This year there was a transition in Elementary Directors. I was hesitant at first, but I couldn't be more pleased. Both the Middle School and Elemenatry Director are caring and professional. I always thought the school was great, but it continues to get better.
The preschool program is great. My daughter is in love with her teacher and has learned so much. It's truly a school and not just a daycare. Lots of parents in our class volunteer and the director has had parent meetings just to get feedback from us on our feelings about the program and our recommendations. So far, we've been really happy with this school.
I decide to go ahead and enroll my children this year in hope since so many other people seem to be having such good luck with the school. Unfortunately after the first quarter I have not seen a great improvement from last year. There were many changes in staff and teachers over the summer. I also believe as someone else wrote that the fundraisers have started to get a bit out of control. Since the beginning of the year there has been a minimum of one fundraiser per week. I am currently involved with the Placentia Yorba Linda School District. They unlike Heritage Oak welcome volunteers and input. I think the school could be great if they were more welcoming both to parents and children.
My child has attended Heritage Oak for eight years now, and she has loved every moment of it. The director, teachers and staff are top-notch! They all really care about their students, and it shows in everything they do. I do not know of any other school that communicates daily with their parents, either through edline (for homework assignments and grades) or a weelky newsletter that is emailed to the parents. Heritage Oak strives to develop the 'whole child' which includes a lot more than just academics. When I walk into the office, there is generally a child at the door, opening it for me with a big smile on his/her face. How often do you see that these days? I will never regret spending the extra money to have my child attend this private school. I know high school will be a breeze for her thanks to Heritage Oak.
