i am a student at bowie and it is so awesome. We do well and get rewards and activities are so fun i am on volleyball and cheerleading.I am in the honor roll too. If your looking for a school bowie is the school to go to.

My child attended Bowie High for two years. We encountered an unresponsive and uninformed administration, poor teaching (movies instead of teaching), low classroom and 'behavior' standards, no serious training in writing/critical thinking, and (with one exception) an unwillingness to work with us in implementing distance-learning courses for subjects not available at the school. We've endured a lengthy and absurd battle to get completed distance-courses from major universities credited on our child's transcript (w/grades of A's and B+). Our child has decided to finish her HS degree at a nearby, much small, district where the learning environment is far better and the level of instruction seems much stronger! If you're moving here, do not despair: there are fine rural districts in this part of Texas. Bowie, in our experience, is not among them.

This is a great school with great oppurtunities, there are minor character flaws with students but thats everywhere

A marginally basic education can be attained by enrolling in Advanced Placement, while basic courses prepare the students for a future in the world of fast food employment. No fine arts programs, no critical reasoning taught. Preparation for college is not valued, however movies in class in lieu of teaching leads one to believe perhaps the students are being taught if they really study hard they can work at a video rental store.
