La Center is an amazing scool. I attend as a sophmore. The kids are nice the teachers are for the most part amazing. If you want your kids to feel accepted and cared for send them to La Center a school who cares. Also are school is in exellent condition we have a student lounge and arwork at everyturn. I am proud to be a WIldcat.
In response to the previous review, LCHS offers AP calculas along with other AP offerings in other areas. The math test scores on the state exam (WASL) and SAT test scores are at or above like schools.
La Center High School is in a major transition as Clark County continues to grow. Compared to fast-paced, advanced curriculae with a focus on college preparation from other schools, La Center High School excels in Music, but, I feel it lags behind in the Math Program (by as much as 3 years compared to some schools) for those interested in engineering and science at prestigious universities. The music program is one of the best even compared with large schools in the state. The bands and choir are held in high esteem by many other schools in the state. For college bound students who need strong math credentials, ask the school to get in Advanced Placement classes and request that the curriculum be strengthened in math. The foreign language program is weak in the sense that only one language is offered.
I am a former student at La Center High School. having attended La Center High School for 4 years, I can honestly attest to the amount of caring and assistance that the teachers at La Center High School give to their students.When I first saw the other reviews for my former school, I was appalled at the lack of truth that they contained. La center schools give you small class size, helpful faculty, and many extracurricular activities. If you want your children to be Herded through the halls of some large school as though they were cattle, then La Center is not a school district you want to move into. however, if you want your child to be treated like a person, if you want them to spend their time learning and bettering themselves, then I suggest that you bring them to our small town,and join our community.
