I am currently a Freshman at Calvin, and the school is very well organized and provides an excellent education.
We have two children who attended Calvin Christian from K through grade 12. Currently our oldest is completing his final year at Biola University in their Torrey Honors Program and our youngest is in her third year of college, currently attending San Diego State University. Our oldest has a 4.0 GPA at Biola and our youngest 3.8 GPA at SDSU. Both say that Calvin provided them with the study skills they have needed at the college level in addition to superior academics. Also, the spiritual training Calvin provided has enabled them to understand the negative cultural influences and for our youngest at SDSU, effectively resist the excessive drinking and drug use prevalent at that campus, in addition to the shallow naturalism and cultural understanding exhibited by many of the professors at SDSU. As parents, we highly recommend Calvin.

This is an exceptional school - amazing caring leadership, a sharp curriculum designed to challenge the student (not teach to a test), Christ-centered, devoted life-long teaching staff.
My children have attended Calvin for many years, and the experience has been mixed. The classes are small, which is an advantage. The K-12 structure allows children to stay in a familiar environment with their same friends throughout their school years. This is good and bad. While it gives the child stability, it also encourages cliches and gossip that can be destructive. Some of the teachers are excellent, while others show blatant favoritism. There are good athletic, music and drama programs. Academics, however, are not the strongest, and the judgemental attitude of many of the teachers, administrators and parent volunteers is disturbing and hypocritical.
