Concord Elementary School

This is a fantastic school district! I have an 8th grader who has been here since Kindergarten and I have a 2nd grader - both of whom are getting an outstanding education. There have been financial issues, but the quality of the education has been consistently outstanding. My daughter is going into high school with all honors classes and it's due in large part to the outstanding teaching staff at Concord & Cass. The other review is very negative, and we have gone through hard times, but the curriculum, administration, student-teacher ratio - all outstanding!

I live in Darien and have 3 children attending the schools. I pay a huge property tax and there is no school bus with some kids living over 3 miles away and have a very dangerous walk. Kid's programs have been eliminated and parents must now pay about $200 per child in mandatory fee tuition a year. School Board has consistently mismanaged school finances and is near financial implosion despite spending a well above state average of $10,500 per student. Parents do not behave very nicely to one another and have divided the community by trying to pass huge school tax increases that get voted down overwhelmingly. We are stuck here, but others should avoid this school.

This school is a wonderful school. I have two children that attend here and I couldn't be more pleased with the whole district!
