My son started kindergarden this year I believe this is one of the best schools I could of pick for him to attend. Mrs. Sanderson is his teacher this year I couldnt of ask for a better one. Ihavent had any problems so far. So if your thinking of moving in the area I believe you will be very pleased.
I have a son at Alamance Elemetary. He seems to like the school and I like the way that his Kindergarden teacher interacts with him. I have had a problem with the bullies at his school. I know that kids will be kids but there should be some type of discipline action taken pertaining to bullies. My son tells the teacher but sometimes it has no effect on them. May if they get the parents more involved it would help. If someone told me that my child was misbehaving then I would take the appropriate actions at home and would respect the actions that the scholl has decided. My son is starting to read and I am excited about that and he is learning. So other than the bullies I am satisfied with the school so far. We will have to see what the rest of the school year brings.
I have had and still have children that attend/ed Alamance and for the most part I have been satisfied with the teachers that they have had. In the 5-6 years that I have been at Alamance there has been quite a few principals that has come & gone and that seems to be a problem, since there is always a new set of rules to get used to with the new principal. I do not like the current principal that is there. I do like the fact that the changes that are made affects me & my children however parent input is never requested or suggested.
We have been at Alamance for 2 years. I have only great things to say about the teachers and staff. They have been very interactive with us as the parents and want to partner with us to give our children the best education. As a transplant from another state, you hear all of the bad things about NC public schools. We gave the system a chance and don't regret it.
