ANA is a school with a beautiful campus. The one major problem is the lack of supervision. Unfortunately, most cadets go home on the weekends, the school runs a skeleton staff and this is not good for teenage boys. Although our son benefited from the small class size, I would not say all the teachers are well qualified. Yes our son passed all of his classes, I doubt he will have the knowledge to move forward in the subject next year and that is not good enough. The RLOs that oversee dorm life are one great thing about the school and my son was lucky enough to have an excellent one. Overall, if your son is lacking discipline and structure, this would not be your best choice. There is too little supervision and accountability. The residential life is more like being in college.

This is a very special school. Your son is treated as a unique individual and given a lot of support to develop as he is meant to...not in some preordained, one size fits all standardized way that that you find in most other schools. The teachers are very good and they care enough to work with the parents to achieve a common goal. The school has wonderful traditions that are based on ideas that are real, true and ethical. They do a wonderful job of shaping a young man.

A great environment for young men to acheive academic success and develop their sense of community, accountability and self esteem.
