I came from a very large high school, at first I was shocked at the size, but soon came to like the closeness of the town. I think that opportunity in this tiny school just doesn't exist, if you're not in athletics you're going to be left out in a big way. There is absolutely nothing else to do. There were times when new teachers would try to make a difference by offering activities such as Speech and Drama- It never lasted! Teachers seem to change like the seasons. Subject teachers do double duty as coaches. They know Belfry would be unheard of locally if it wern't for sports. They couldn't afford to lose their star players to failing grades, so it was always taken care of.

This school is dying, enrollment is at an all time low, facilities are in need of repair and availability of extra curriculars other than core sports are virtually nonexistant. The 9-12 classes should strongly consider consolidation with other school districts in the valley.

The quality of this school is way higher than that of any other school in it's district. This is based on saftey and discipline as well on sports. Belfry's athletics is it's true calling card. It produces many young talented athelets every year. This is done by hard work, dedication, great coaching.
