My son, who entered kindergarten this year, really enjoys this school and is learning tremendously. His teacher, Ms. Butler is very positive, warm, and energetic. He feels safe and confident in school. He enjoys the classroom activites, opportunity to change classes (tech ed, gym, art, math, etc), rather than staying in the same room all day as he did in pre-school. It seems young to do so much changing, but he really enjoys the movement. And there is a clear routine for him. The only thing is I wish they offered foreign language. Students at this age are much more open to this ex experience. Overall, it is a great school with a warm, welcoming atmosphere with many opportunities for individual growth!

Clemens Crossing Elementary School is Columbia's best kept secret. One of our children has graduated from CCES and the other now attends. The school has a great new Principal, a great staff, an amazing Media Center and an extremely supportive and established PTA with so many additional enrichment vehicles for your child that it would make your head spin. Many of the staff have won various awards for high achievement in teaching and have been at the school for a long time, which is a indicator of a stable educational environment. The school facility is currently not overcrowded and actually is a bit underutilized. A new wing for full day kindergarten was just completed and 28 year old physical plant is in remarkably good shape and high on the list for upgrading. Our kids love this school.

I am not pleased with the lunch hour designated for the 5th graders. They have recess at 1:15 and eat lunch at 1:35, which is pretty late in the day for students to have lunch. The school is older and does not have lockers or a large cafeteria or auditorium available for school functions. The school supplies are collected from the students and put into a community bin without permission from the parents and possibly sent to other schools at the end of the year. i am glad this is the last year for my children to attend this school. Field trips are very costly, just spent $26.00 per student for an upcoming trip and heard that the end of the year field trip is close to twice that amount. I am not very impressed with Clemens Crossings
