Blanco Middle School

Bms is a great school with caring teachers and an outstanding administrator. The lower reviews of the school were obviously written by students not taking the review seriously or disgruntled parents who have not reviewed the school objectively. Bms is not perfect, but it is a very good school.

We came from a much larger district and have been absolutely impressed with the amount of principal, teacher and community support our children get in this wonderful small town. The pros of our children going from a class-size of 25 to 15, being able to participate in all extracurricular activities and being greeted by principals that knows their name and not just their face is comforting. Congratulations Blanco ISD for being a place where parents craving a 'small-town' atmosphere can also feel well knowing our children are getting a super education.

I hate it theres no help for the students who need it if there not in athletics or band they have no place the principle is very slow and the 7TH grade math teacher has no place there

Very unhappy with Blanco Middle School. Lukewarm administration, small town, small mindedness, favoring sports over academics. Financially not supportive of teacher training, only contributing the bare minimum to teacher continuing education. Only 3 electives to choose from, while, again, sports are king. PTO is always clamoring for membership and attendance at meetings. Not a strong parent connection with the school. Many teachers have lived there their whole lives, and in my opinion, are very resistant to change, as is much of the town. We are seeking educational opportunities in the next county. Good luck.
