This is my son's first year at Southridge.. although academically he is doing better.. personally I find it unchallenging for him.. they have not given much homeworks and no books to bring home..
I went to Southridge for three years. I didn't get the opportunity to graduate from that school. But I can tell you that during those three years I learned so much even though I was an ESL student. All the teachers helped me a great deal, they always gave me courange to keep going. After I moved to Chicago, people did ask me about the school I went to. I told them that I didn't like the billingual program on my new school, so they asked why. I said that at Southridge all my classes were in English, and because of that I was encouraged to tried harder and to my best. Yes there were fights and other problems, but I never let any of this get on my way. I'm so grateful of all the people (students and teachers) who help me.
Southridge is not really a bad school. The students just choose not to go to class. They have one of the best track teams in florida
It's funny how people talk bad about this school. And mostly because of where the school is located and the population inside the school. I graduated from Miami southridge in 2007, and i find it funny because i also went to Miami Killian senior High school. and to tell you the truth. I think i saw more fights in Killian than southridge. i was amazed because i thought that southridge would of been a horrible school. Like people talk bad about it. I believed it and ofcourse i tried telling my parents that when i moved to southridge to change me back to killian, Well all 3 years i was there. I LOVED IT. it is an awsome school. and i think i graduated because of the awsome teachers they have there.
