So many opportunities at this school for those who are academically talented and those that are challenged. There is band, midday choir, foreign language (spanish and french) and the most incredible Academic Talent Program (1 hour/day) for the 4th and 5th graders. Last year they spent 6 months on WWII: they wrote, directed and acted in WWII history plays, grew victory gardens, created PowerPoints, read books (my son read over 12 different difficult books), cooked food from the garden and invited parents and those living during WWII to come. They interviewed people from WWII-just to name a few. This year they are doing the Civil War: books, plays, gardens, an overnight encampment with reaenactors (and parents of course) where they at food that they grew and would have been eaten at that time. They are having a Civil War Ball in uniforms supplied by the museum this month. Wow!
