Prior to my two sons attending Beecher Road/Woodbridge and Amity Regional Junior High School/Bethany. They were enrolled in a New Haven private school. One of my son's needed extra help and they were disgraceful for helping him with his needs. I requested additional help and they wouldn't help him. I had to send him to the Sylvan Learning Center for help. As soon as he started in Beecher Road he was improving his grades. The teachers really do care and when he went to Amity Regional Junior High he even improved more he is now an Honor student and on his way to becoming a High Honor student. I am so pleased that we made the change and he is much happier and confident in all that he does. My other son is also doing very well and might be a High Honor student the next marking period.

I really love this school. If it weren't for the fact that it's in the middle of a renovation and if there were more after-school activities I would rate it a 5. A good school starts with good leadership and they absolutely have it in Dr. Dellinger and Mrs. Greene. All teachers I have met are enthused about teaching kids this age, and my son comes home talking about school. I do think its important for there to be more options for students after school - at the school.

The ration for student to teacher is actually 28:1 and in some classes as high as 30:1 for advanced level grades. This does not provide optimal education.
