My son went through Parrish School and now my daughter is here. Class sizes are nice and small, which allows the teachers to care about each child. It is wonderful school! Each child is treated as an individual and the staff works to help all kids succeed. My kids have very high reading skills and the teachers keep them challenged and happy with their individual goals. My daughter loves the PE and art teachers too! The Bi-lingual program is excellent: 1/2 the day is taught in Spanish and 1/2 in English! It's a great school!

The teachers are good-to-excellent and caring, but they are inhibited by No Child Left Behind. Thus, just the basics here -- not a nurturing, creative atmosphere.

While there are many wonderful teachers here, especially in the PreK and Kindergarten classrooms, the administration is overly zealous about control at best, and downright uncaring at worst. They spend a lot of effort keeping parents and families out of the school and 'out of the loop' in this school district. Attendance centers are not 'family friendly'. The preK seems almost like a separate school here, and that's too bad, because they seem to be some of the most wonderful teachers here. They give kids a really good start. Unfortunately all creative play and joy in the classroom seems to die after kindergarten and the teachers must start 'teaching to the tests.' Personally I believe a good school is about more than test scores--it's also about creativity. This school fails at both, however. Class size is way too large in this district, considering the difficulties and special needs of many children.
