St Mark was once a well-rounded place to be.The 2009 Principal sounded well intended, however was very cliquish, patronizing & 'my way or highway' in spite of Parent community's majority votes. However, don't let this discourage you, the teachers are wonderful if not a bit over-extended with multiple side projects, they are well intended. Sports program is basically non-existent compared to the dominating force it once was.Principal cut PE to 1 day/week,& cut all paid coaching (except 1 w/no degree) to volunteers. If you are looking for a strong Catholic community, check closely.Although it is taught, it is often not reinforced on the school yard since the staff is over-extended it simply cannot be what it was. Also many of the hypocritical Catholic parents don't seem to be controllable.Cliquish, their bad habits & drama trickle down to their children. If you reinforce your religion at home, your child should be ok. Hope with new Principal.

we moved our son to saint marks from LAUSD. what a wonderful enviornment. he is thriving. the teachers are firm but caring, the expectations for both students and parents are clear, and we are confident he is getting the education he deserves. the teachers from all grades know him by name, they know us and they are in tune with his needs and ours. the other parents are great. we couldnt be happier!!

We've already had two daughters 'fly' through St Marks(1st-8th grade),now one in College and one a junior at Notre Dame Academy. We also have our last daughter in the 5th grade here. All we can say is it dosn't get any better when they graduate from this wonderfull school and you breath a sigh of relief when all is well !...Thank you God!

We have two children at this school, one grade school and one middle school aged. We are all very pleased. The principal is amazing! She has so much energy and is clearly dedicated. The changes she has made in the last couple of years with teachers and curriculum have been great. The teachers are great and the students are kind and respectful.very
