I am a former teacher at Brookside. The staff there is very caring and loving! They are truely interested in each child's education and well being! You won't find a more deticated principal anywhere! Plus they have the best specialist team (art, music, pe, media, computers, and guidance) in the county!

There are teaching legends and there are teaching duds here at Brookside. I was happy with the school at first, but NCLB keeps the teachers teaching to a lousy test and they don't get to know the kids! It's systematic with no room for creativity and whether it's the school's fault or the No Child program's fault, I still hate it. The pros are you'll never find a more attentive principal and it's actually a pretty decent school when you get the stellar teachers. The cons are the teachers who are so fed up with NCLB they're just there for the paycheck, and you'll find a few of those here. Overall, I give it an average. Three years ago it would have been an excellent, but maybe it will improve again.

When we moved to this area it was my desire that my children attend a good school and Brookside is very much everything I wanted it to be. The teachers are highly skilled and well trained. They are very passionate about making sure every child has every need met. I am thankful for such a school.
