Our granddaughter has gone to Imagine since first grade, now in third grade. We love the school! It is a small, charter school with great teachers, and great students! We are very blessed to have found this school and are looking forward to moving into our newly built school next month.
This could be a good school if the teachers had an aid in the class and the administration was worth a hoot. The teachers are so overwhelmed that they don't keep track of the child's progress, grade much homework and don't keep tabs on the children and what they are doing in the class. The stations are not really teaching them that much and there is not much actual instruction. Be very wary of this. Most work is done on simply worksheets. The school has good ideas but has trouble implementing them.

My son had attended two other district schools. He was identified as gifted at four years old, and at each school we had struggles with the principals to get him the level of education and instruction that he needed. I finally found it at this school! He is being challenged for the first time in his life! Right now there are not specific elective classes offered, but the teachers use art, music, drama, dance, and computers in ther instructional delivery on a regular basis. The Project Child approach is not for all children, but my son has ADHD and does very well. He is not required to sit in the same desk and classroom all day, every day. He is able to get out of his seat and walk around the room to change stations and collaberate with other students. The students also change classes to attend five different classes daily.

My children are currently enrolled and will NOT be returning next year. The project child program that a previous parent loved, will not work for all children. If your child is not self motivated (which is less likely for boys) their learning will be limited. If you are considering sending your child to this school make sure you do your homework! Go take a tour, look at the classroom setting and compare it to your child s current school. There is no playground equipment. There is no Library, Art, Music, or Spanish classes, they don t even have an on staff ESOL for the students that are attending and know little English. Sit induring a lesson, and truly observe what the children are doing during their stations. It is a real eye opener. In this type of learning environment two teachers should be provided in a classroom.
