This could be a great school. This school enjoys such a wonderful student population. Students generally seem engaged and eager to learn. Unfortunately, teaching is uneven and the leadership doesn't have a grasp on how to improve it. The school received an 'F' and students' state test scores are in a nose dive. Teachers continually leave and management is constantly changing or changing roles or titles. To be fair to teachers, a lot are brand new and seem unsupported for the most part. Most teachers seem unhappy. In fact, most non-management staff seem unhappy. This school is, sadly, in a decline.

Amber has everything you want in a private school but is actually a charter school .Dedicated teaching staff progressive administration and board members who are willing to do what it takes to improve the Amber experience.
I am a parent of a kindergarten student at Amber and so far I am pleased with my child's progress. I was unable to get my child into the same school in another district where her brother attends. I called Amber and explained my situation and luckily she was accepted right away. My daughter is happy not to go to the babysitter anymore but more importantly she is learning. Everyday she comes home and has learned how to spell something new. Recently, she came home and spelled the word Wednesday perfectly. She is excited and challenged by her classroom work and homework. She really likes her teachers. I am impressed by the nuturing spirit of the staff and the fact that the school security seems to know all students by name. The school seems to take an active role in looking out for all the children attending.

My daughter is currently a student at Amber charter school and has been since Kindergarten. I am very pleased with the staff and the curriculum. They could use some improvement in the Adminstrative Dept., but considering that the school is only about 5 years old, I am sure with the help of the great staff and cooperative parent association they can work those kinks out.
