Holbrook Middle School

I can only give this school an average because of one major issue. Bullying is NOT taken seriously at this school and is overlooked many times. I actually met with teachers and the principal about this issue with no resolution. The only redeeming quality seems to be one teacher in particular who has worked with my daughter to bring her grades up from C's and D's to A's and B's, and my daughter couldn't be happier having such a teacher. The encore program (art, chorus, band, etc.) really should be about trying different things and figuring out which one fits you. Allow your student to try different things if they choose. As in any other school, there are great teachers and there are not so great teachers. You just have to let your kids decide.

I am disgusted how some of the teachers rate at this school. Many will not keep you informed of what is going on w/your child. They allow children to turn in work late & give them full credit. Will not take the time to help your child if they need it. I was specifically told by one teacher that it was not their job to teach the kids; it's to get them through the system. They say they will help and do things to your face but then they will DO NOTHING. If you really care if your child learns anything this is not the school for them. If you want them to skate through the system then this might be the school for them. Overall I am disgusted w/ the uncaring staff and teachers. There are a few good teachers but not many.

Holbrook is a great school.They have great academic programs for the children.My daughter is in band. She loves it.The teachers are wonderful and they keep you informed about what is going on with your child at all times.My child is a.D.H.D. And so they have there hands full with her ,but they do a great job. I really think that this is an outstanding school and you will love it too.All of the staff at this school are very attentave when it comes to your needs. I'm really glad that my child attends this school. You can feel safe that your child will be taken care of too.There is always a police officer at the school.If hes not there at a certain time, you can guarantee that he will be back in a few minutes.
