My child attended FSHS for a year, expecting at least a decent education. We were sorely disappointed.

French Settlement high school is a wonderful place to go. The teachers are wonderful. The teachers do so much to help you get to where you want to go in life. Because the school is so small, you know everybody. Thats not a bad thing. Its a great enviroment to go to school in.
This school does have some wonderful teachers. I have found that most of them are extremely helpful and are willing to go the extra mile. French Settlement HS is a tight-knit community filled with 2nd and 3rd generation families so it is sometimes a little hard to mesh with the students who have been there since birth. The same goes for some of the teachers--they have been there all of their life. The ones who have seem to be less sympathetic towards their students though, which is a shame. Unless your student is interested in sports, there really are no extra-curricular activities.

I went to French Settlement High since kindergarten, and I graduated this past year. I would have to say this was a wonderful school. All of the teachers try their best to teach to the fullest and the office faculty/ librarian would help you with everything they could. When I have kids of my own they will attend French Settlement. They pushed us to do our best, that is why we ranked high on standarized test and in academics. This is the number one school.
