this school is a let down the uniforms are horrible, the maintence is dispicable, and the grade scale is a ever changing seqence, my son and daughter were both sophmores and got the appropreciate grades to transend into juniors and around the end of summer all the suddend they get pushed back a grade after they told them they are juniors this was not fair i and other parents have decided to protest against this problem and someone must speak the truth.

After reading the below comments I am amazed at what I've seen. As a former student, graduate of 2005 I agree with some things. The discipline in Cahokia High school has only got harsher because the students have no self discipline and the parents of these students don't take ownership when their child does wrong. I know the faculty at this school cares a lot about the students. While attending Cahokia I thought it was the easiest school to ever attend. The teachers literally gave 'study guides' with all of the questions on the test and over half of the class would still fail the test.

Cahokia High School has been a very instrumental part of my life. Others may not like it because of its harsh rules, but it is giving students the discipline that they will need in their adult life. As far as the education goes, I think that it is fantastic. As a former student I took all honor courses and the faculty helped me in getting a full ride to the University of Illinois. I am going to receive two degrees and I will also be attending med school. If it hadn't been for the top notch faculty at Cahokia High, I do not believe I could have achieved all this. If I had to do it all over again and attend a different high school, I wouldn't. There may be schools that are academically better than Cahokia, but here the teachers reach out to each individual student to help them.

In my opinion, this school should have information available for parents in regards to what's going on at Cahokia High. There should be newsletters, online calendars detailing upcoming school events/and or activities, and just information to keep concerned parents aware of what going on in their district. Also, I don't think that there is enough afterschool activities for our children to get involved in. Everyone does not participate in basketball, football, or softball. There should be drama classes, dance esembles, etc. Let's give all students a chance to get involved.
