As a graduate of East Gaston, an education major, and someone who has toured many other NC schools from across the state, East Gaston is probably the best public school I have seen. The teachers are all certified, which ensures that they know what they are teaching about. There is a great diversity of students, with colors across the board, preparing students to cope with the real world. The principal is fantastic, putting down any discipline problems before they become a problem that affects many and knowing all kids on a first name basis. Everyone at East Gaston really cares about a student's success, and it shows, with the amount of students that not only graduate with honors, but get scholarships to attend the college of their choice. Everyone always feels incredibly safe when they walk on campus and we don't have huge metal detecors greating us at the doors.

I feel East Gaston is the best in the county. I graduated myself from East Gaston and have one child to have graduated and one child as a sophomore now at EG. I feel we have some of the best teachers that want to help in any way they can for our students to achieve. I feel the overall morale at EG is producive and exciting for each student. I don't get bogged down with worrying about safety issues at EG because I feel the faculty is doing a fine job with this issue. I feel the principal stops trouble before it gets out of control and it shows that EG will not tolerate violence in any way. I commend our principal for being a Christian and standing up for his beliefs no matter what. Again, I am very proud I was a gradute of EG and my chidren will be.
