My kids start 4th and 5th grade this year. So far, I am thrilled with the school. They offer free meals to all students, and free after school programs. I do think as they get older, I will wish the school had more activities, but for now, I am a very thrilled mom. When my kids have a problem, or are being a problem, the situation is almost always taken care of right away, and in a (in my opinion) constructive, helpful manner. My kids have gone through all the other shelton grade schools, and I wouldn't go back to them for anything. In fact, I really wish hood canal school would add on 9th grade. Especially since the grades and schools are so mixed up in shelton. I have no opinion on parents involvement.

I went to Hood Canal through 8th grade.I loved it. I was in the band, The Choir, the drill team, and Art with Mrs. pringle. When I had a problem with something , my teacher would help me. I was an A/B student. I recieved the coaches award in the 7th grade and was very athletic. I remember the dances and programs when my parents would come watch us perform. I now have kids in the school. There is no band, no choir, I don't hear of any programs for the parents to watch their children perform, and art classses ony thanks to special people who fund the program themselves. Where has the money gone?
