West Huntsville Elementary School

The previous comment, while respecting their views, seems to be written by an upset parent, possibly infuriated at the time of the previous writing. Huntsville Schools are some of the finest anywhere in the USA. They are constantly outperforming national averages and have produced the finest in industry, education, physical, biological, and social sciences. This particular school does have room for improvement and may have difficulty from time to time with discipline problems, as may any school in the USA. Huntsvillian's, however, band together and work hand in hand to nurture the education of our students in a strong positive direction capable of meeting future needs of both our children and the economic work force of our future. I finished in Huntsville's city system and have lived here for over 40 years. We are strong and help each other! Thank you and welcome to Huntsville. Jim Robinson 'Working to Be The Best'

The leadership at this school is the worst I have ever seen in a school. Discipline is non-existent. There are only a few good teachers and parent involvement is almost nil due to principal inability to work well with others. If it is not her way forget it. The test scores are awful and there is no recognition of parental involvement and the principal doesn't even honor teacher for teacher appreciation week. My son will never return there for any more of his education. However, his teacher that he had this year was the best ever. She was truly a God send. If it wasn't for her I would have pulled my son out before the end of the year. Something needs to change quickly or the children will be the ones that suffer even more that they already have.
