William R. Buckley Elementary School

Physically this school is practically brand new and looks good on the outside. I have had issues with lack of supervision or students. There have been incidents where first or second graders are waiting outside for the teacher to arrive with no adult supervision. This school does not suit higher learning students. Rules are not strictly enforced so there are students wearing inappropriate clothing, logos and hairstyles. The playground structure is very minimal and supervision during recess and lunch is also minimal. As with any education, the parent has to be aggressive about ensuring that your child is receiving the best education possible.

Buckley is the best school in Porterville. The teaching staff keep in contact, monitoring your childs progress individually. There is a reading specialist on grounds full time. The office staff are friendly and know you by name. The principal is very experienced and handles issues in a quick professional manner. The class rooms are decorated by students art work and achievements. The school recognizes all student as individuals encouraging academic success. Children are polite and parents are proud. Thank You William R. Buckley staff for making our school a role model for others!

I love William Buckley school. The school has really supported my child's education. The teachers and other staff are all very friendly and good with the kids.

We have had a great experience with Buckley, because the teachers take a personal interest in their students, and the surrounding community seems to care about the school system. The teachers are readily available whenever you have a question, concern, suggestion or just want to discuss your child's progression. The children are exposed to a number of activities that enable them to grow in life experiences, such as numerous field trips, community events, and various school programs. The classrooms and facilities are new and appear to be state-of-the-art. The grounds are maintained, but they are lacking in their playground variety. There have been little-to-no incidents of crime or violent acts, and there is a feeling of safety on the school grounds and surrounding neighborhoods. Overall Buckley is a great school.
