This is a top notch school. The teachers truly care about the children as well as the administration. The principal and asst. principal are constantly interacting with the students. They are never in their offices because they are always in the hallways encouraging students as well as promoting a safe environment. The 6th graders were able to go to Nature's Classroom which was a great learning environment for my child. *(By the way the minimum grade requirement for Dauphin Island has been terminated.) I think this school is top notch from the administration all the way through to the cafeteria ladies!

In response to the parent who thought the trip was a wonderful idea....it leaves out the children who are good students and try hard, but just don't do as well on tests! How fair is this? Children with c's and above(passing grades) and no disciplinary action against them should also be allowed to go. I never recieve notes on the events at the school, as if a 10 year old is going to remember to tell me about every PTO meeting. I take no issue with their academic program or teachers, both seem top rate.

AIS is a great school. The fact that they send 5th graders who achieve at least 88% on their science SAT, to Dauphin Island is just one example of the wonderful opportunities they use to get kids to do their best.
