this is my grand childrens first year. They have said nothing but good things. They love the assistant principal. We hope to meet all thier teachers.

My child atends kindergarden at Abingdon and loves every minute of it. He has had a difficult time in all of his preschools(3). Since starting at Abingdon, he can not stop talking about how much he loves school and his teachers. He has learned a great deal more than I would have expected in such a short time. And the teachers all seem to want to help. The comunication with the teachers has been great especially with the help of email. Questions and concerns are always handle quickly. We are very pleases thus far with all aspects of our childs education at Abingdon Elementary.

This school is wonderful, there are 1 or 2 teachers with questionable skills in teaching but overall it has been an excellent experience for my daughter. Mrs Wilburn in 3rd grade, Miss Tricia with book buddies and homework club and miss Jordan the reading specialist. These are just a few of the oustanding, caring individuals this school has to offer. From the front office staff, to the teachers, nurse, cafeteria, custodians and even the bus drivers you won't find a better school for your elementary age child. S.Miller, Gloucester Point, VA

While I think this is a good school, I'm disappointed in the lack of programs for advanced students, particularly Kindergarten. Even after knowing before school started of our childs ability and being academically advanced the school has not helped to give more challenging work. We are also disappointed in the lack of discipline in the classroom. The light system doesn't work for all children and there is really no discipline beyond making a child move their name to yellow or red. While we do feel it is a good school, we are looking for other alternatives so our child is not just another number to raise test scores. The school needs a program for academically advanced children starting in Kindergarten.
