The REACH school at Brook Haven is great. My child graduated last year and really loved it. She is well prepared for high school. Her star test scores were excellent. All the children scored proficient of advanced, and the best thing is that they did so by creative non text book driven education.This is the original REACH program founded by the parents who started the program. I could not be happier!
Potential is not met. Nice campus. Parents more involved than most Administration is huge problem. Slow in response to almost any situation. Social problems on campus make for bad experience. Teacher quality is down. It is not what it once was. Parents should seek other schools.
This school feels like a private education in a public school. Excellent teachers who are dedicated, creative, effective and responsive. There is a sense of community I have not seen in other middle schools, and it is a safe environment. The only complaint is some minor rules are not consistently enforced (dress code, gum chewing, spitting etc.) so I'd give it a 4.5 if I could since it is not perfect. Very rare and minor discipline problems. Fantastic extracurricular programs. A great school in every way!
